This is Joy Every Week - a weekly quest to find joy in everyday things. Youβre receiving this either because you subscribed or someone forwarded it to you.
Hello, my friend.
This week was β is β hell.
And we have a long, hard journey ahead of us.
But today, letβs rest.
This weekend, take time to rest. To mourn. To cry, if thatβs what you needβI know Iβve been crying a lot and Iβm still not done.
This weekend, step away from the doom, even for a moment. Look away from the phone. Look outside the window. Find a tree or a leaf or a bird or a rock.
Take a breath.
This weekend, take time for silence, if thatβs what you need.
For quiet, for sleeping, for naps.
This weekend, take time to hold your people, the people you love and care about, close to your chest. If you canβt hold them physically, hold them in your heart. Send a text, an email, make a call.
Tell them youβre here, youβre not going to let go.
This weekend, make time to be with your people. To laugh, and maybe cry together, and then laugh again. To be quiet together.
To find some joy together.
Because we need joy, if we are to keep going and face whatβs coming.
We need each other.
We have each other.
I am here. I am not letting go.
Weβll go on our quest for joy again next week.
Today, letβs rest.
