šæ Discover Hidden Joys In Your Small, Quiet Moments
The peace of a golden morning in the kitchen + 31 Small Joys for March.
šæ Hello, lovely! Iām Nospheratt and this is Joy Every Week - a weekly quest to find joy in everyday things. Enjoy! :) šæ
Today I was thinking about the quiet of a golden morning in the kitchen.
Those moments when the day is still waking up, and the sun streams through the window, painting everything in sunshine and diffuse yellow.
When the peaceful silence still hangs in the air, or thereās soft laughter and sleepy smiles.
When the world has not yet begun, and thereās the promise of shared stories or quiet contemplation.
A little, small time just to be.
Itās such a small, trivial thing. A sunny kitchen, a few moments of peace.
And yet.
My body remembers, my soul remembers, the joy of it. I can close my eyes and take nourishment from those memories, from that golden light and that quiet.
I can be there.
I hoard shiny, small, peaceful moments like a magpie.
Take a breath, feel it in your skin, let it sink into your body and become part of you.
So you can go back there.
When things are scary. When youāre missing the past, and your people, and the future thatās not there anymore.
When you need a moment of peace.
You should treasure them, too.
Collecting very small joys is an easy way to notice the joyful things in your life.
To remind yourself that not all is lost, not everything is pain.
To build resilience, and to learn how to access joy and light when you need it.
Because big moments and life-changing events (luckily) donāt happen all that often, but you can feel joy every dayāeven if just for a moment.
Even if just for a few minutes, while you brew your coffee or prepare your tea in the golden quiet of the kitchen.

PS - Do you like the new dividers and accent color? Red has been the color of myā¦well, everything, all my life. It still is. But Iāve been feeling for a while that something more organic and peaceful ā green ā would be better for this space. What do you think? Should I go back? š
This is so so lovely, Nospherat! I need to go back and read it again now. And yes to the dividers! How did you do that?? Asking for a blonde š¤šā¤ļø
